Tilman Fertitta

Tilman Fertitta got into the ground floor with Landry’s in 1980 as a partner in its first restaurant. Now he’s CEO and chairman over its 500-odd restaurants, including tourist favorites like Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. His real estate is even grander, including Golden Nugget Casinos and Texas icons like San Antonio’s Tower of the Americas and Houston’s Kemah Boardwalk.

He’s underway now with Houston’s first New York-style vertical mixed-use development, a 680k SF hotel/office/multifamily/restaurant/retail tower. Tilman got his first taste of the food business at his father’s seafood restaurant in Galveston, TX, where he worked after school.
