Energy Transfer Equity, the pipeline company Warren co-founded, has remained successful in the face of plummeting oil prices—in September 2015, it announced its intention to buy Williams Co. for $37.7B (the merger is still under review). The acquisition would put Warren at the helm of more than 100,000 miles of oil and natural gas pipelines across the US.
In 2007, he branched out to co-found his own recording studio, Music Road Records, based in his 27k SF mansion in the ritzy Preston Hollow neighborhood of Austin, TX.
