Brothers Bill, Bob, and Jim Pohlad inherited the Pohlad Cos from their father. He launched the business in the 1950s as a banking and financial services firm, and it expanded into commercial real estate, automotive sales, sports, entertainment, and investments.
Chief executive Jim runs the real estate development sector, which includes Cushman & Wakefield/NorthMarq, United Properties, and Meridian Land. They also own the Minnesota Twins, which is now worth almost $670M. The family sold their financial services arm to UMB Financial last summer in an all-stock deal worth roughly $180M.
