The casino mogul’s opulent portfolio includes The Mirage, Bellagio and Wynn Las Vegas. But Steve Wynn wasn’t always so luxurious. He got his start in bingo, taking over his father’s bingo parlor business after graduating from the University of Pennsylvania. The profits provided the capital he needed to move to Vegas and put his hand in the casino game, starting with the revitalization of the Golden Nugget and its eventual disposition for $440M.
Steve’s casino success has facilitated the development of an impressive (and expensive) art collection—works include a Van Gogh (purchased for $47.5M), a J.M.W. Turner painting (purchased for $35.8M) and the “Fiori di Cuomo” on display at the Bellagio (worth $40M).
