Stephen eventually sold most of his string of 20 malls for $1.75B but still owns the CambridgeSide Galleria and Pier 4. He’s also very active in the hotel business, with properties in Newburyport and Nantucket, and focuses on airport retail, developing the local shops and restaurant concessions in heavily trafficked airports like LaGuardia, PHL, Reagan National, Dulles, and Seattle-Tacoma. New England Development also planned a community called Pinehills in Plymouth, MA. Stephen serves as a trustee on hospitals at his alma mater Boston University, and donates to the arts.
