Jack Gosnell Wins 2015 Stemmons Service Award
Bisnow walked the red carpet Thursday night as commercial real estate up-and-comers and industry icons came out to honor the best of the best. The evening’s highlight was the presentation of NTCAR's 2015 Stemmons Service Award to CBRE/UCR Urban EVP Jack Gosnell (pictured getting a hug from the 2014 Stemmons Award winner, Hall Financial Group director of leasing Kim Butler). Stemmons Award nominees included some of the industry’s biggest names: CBRE’s Steve Berger, Carey Cox’s Bill Cox and Citadel Partners’ Scott Morse.
Jack (with his family by his side) says he’s lucky to get to do a job that he loves. The self-proclaimed Downtown nut anticipates the revival of the West End, but says his most exciting project has been the Dallas Farmers Market. When it comes to the pros who have taught him the most, he says Henry S. Miller Jr. was the most impactful, giving him a job straight out of college. Other big influencers: fellow CBRE/UCR vice chairman Mickey Ashmore and CBRE SVP Mike Friedman (the 2006 Stemmons winner).
The 2014 Young Citizen Award recipient, Transwestern’s Natalie Snyder, presented this year’s winner, Hillwood’s Reid Goetz, with his award. Reid credited his family for giving him a moral compass and his wife for knowing that the after-hours work events really are work related. He also credited the Hillwood team for their instruction and guidance. The nominees included The Weitzman Group's Elizabeth Allen, JLL's Allison Johnston and HPI Real Estate Services' Hunter Lee. The Millennials proved that they’re full of energy and creativity with a special nominees video clip played at the awards. (You have to watch the whole thing. Mandatory.)
No, it’s not a re-enactment of The Godfather, but a gathering of some of CRE’s shining stars: NTCAR president (CBRE SVP) David Glasscock, CBRE SVP Mike Friedman, PegasusAblon’s Mike Ablon and CBRE managing director Blair Oden. Mike emceed the event. Next up for NTCAR is the 2016 Commercial Real Estate Hall of Fame induction ceremony on May 4 at the Dallas Country Club. This year’s inductees: Crescent Real Estate’s John Goff and Weber & Co’s John P. Weber. Larry Good of GFF will receive the Michael McAuley Lifetime Achievement Award at the event.
No big event is complete without a photo of the good folks who put up with our DFW reporter Tonie Auer. Here’s Rachel Anderson with her husband, Younger Partner’s Trae Anderson; Colliers’ Mary Stoner Yost; Marsha Getto-Aikens; CBRE first VP Jay Lorch (1988 Stemmons winner); Dowdle Real Estate’s Lynn Dowdle; Fischer & Co’s Sharon Friedberg; Velocity Marketing Group's Marie Quintana; E Smith Realty’s Susan Arledge (2012 Stemmons winner); and NOVUS Realty Advisors’ Robert Grunnah (1998 Stemmons winner).
