Kelowna's New MEC: What The Okanagan's Been Begging For

MEC Kelowna, a 20k SF store in the redeveloped former Future Shop space at Orchard Plaza Shopping Centre, had its grand opening Saturday. This is MEC’s first location in the Okanagan. The co-op’s 40,000-plus members in the region had been asking for a store for years, notes CFO Sandy Treagus, adding he and his team were “stoked” to be able to deliver on that call. This is MEC’s fifth BC location after Vancouver, North Vancouver, Victoria and Langley, and its 18th in Canada. Since 2005, MEC has invested more than $560k in community-based projects in the Okanagan.
