The much anticipated $250M, 600-room Great Wolf Lodge Southern California—the largest newly constructed hotel in California—includes a 100k SF indoor water park and 18k SF of retail. The hotel, from a JV of Great Wolf Resorts and Colorado developer McWhinney, opened last Friday in Garden Grove.

The woodland-themed, family-oriented resort, which was designed by Ware Malcomb Architects, is on 12 acres at 12681 Harbor Blvd, not far from Disneyland. A 700-room hotel and 200-room boutique hotel are planned on nearby vacant lots, reports the Orange County Register.
