What is the Rec Room (And How Do We Get One)?

Cineplex Entertainment plans to build new digital media-driven entertainment hubs across Canada. Dubbed The Rec Room, the venues will feature a large gaming area (with high-tech simulation games and old school faves like billiards and ping pong); upscale casual dining and bar; and a live entertainment auditorium, Cineplex’s Mike Langdon tells us. The prototype opens at South Edmonton Common this fall, a 40k SF space adjacent to a Cineplex theatre. Where next? Mike says “Vancouver is among the cities that would be ideal locations for this concept."
