Wegmans To Anchor New Middletown Retail Center

A Wegmans At Woodmore Town Centre In Lanham, Md.

Wegmans will be the new anchor of The Shoppes at Middletown on Route 35.

While design plans are not finalized,  the grocer — which has seven locations in New Jersey and will open two more this year — generally ranges between 110K and 130K SF, The Asbury Park Press reports.

National Realty Development Corp., the developer behind the planned shopping center, said that the Shoppes at Middletown will open in 2019, yet the paper reported National Realty still must earn township approval.

The site's plans have changed significantly, with the newest iteration eliminating three retail stores and two restaurants in favor of the Wegmans.
