Dreams do come true. The Swedish home furnishings giant will open its first San Antonio location in Live Oak in 2019. About 250 people will be employed at the 290k SF store on 31 acres at the intersection of 1604 and I-35. IKEA doesn't plan to break ground till 2018. The company's real estate manager, Chuck Coker, told the San Antonio Express-News the land was purchased from The Weitzman Group. Cencor Realty, Weitzman's construction arm, will help IKEA through the development process. A general contractor has not been announced. The store will be the Swedish retailer's 42nd store in the US and fifth in Texas. [SAEN]
