The LeFrak Organization has been helmed by Richard LeFrak since the death of his father, Samuel LeFrak, in 2003.

The LeFrak family has built up wealth over generations, and today, its name is all over New York City. Examples of this include a namesake recreation center in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park and an entire 20-building neighborhood developed by the family dynasty in the 1960s. Beginning in the 1980s, the LeFrak Organization was the main developer behind Newport, a mixed-use neighborhood in Jersey City, New Jersey.

Projects in the pipeline include SoLeMia, a 183-acre master planned community in Miami set to cost $4B and open next year. — Scott Klocksin
