Bechtel Group CEO Riley Bechtel
The world would be a different place without the work of the Bechtel Group in the more than 100 years since Warren Bechtel founded it.
The construction and civil engineering firm has been responsible for the Hoover Dam, the Bay Area Rapid Transit system and the Channel Tunnel connecting England and France by rail.
Riley Bechtel ran the firm from 1990 until 2014, when he stepped down for health reasons. Riley’s father, Stephen Bechtel, was CEO from 1948 until 1960. The firm is now led by Riley’s son, Brandon Bechtel. Riley and Stephen each own 20% of the privately held company and are worth $2.9B apiece. — Scott Klocksin
