Outlet Collection Will Be Canada's Largest

Construction is on schedule and Southern Ontario will soon have another addition in an ever-expanding portfolio of outlet mallsIvanhoe Cambridge’s Outlet Collection. (You all are making it very difficult to justify looking sloppy.)

Ivanhoe’s EVP development Paul Gleeson says the $200M, 528k SF project in Niagara-on-the-Lake (over 63 acres), set to open May 15, will “incorporate the best attributes of regional malls, power centres, outlet centres, and entertainment venues in a single concept.” (This isn't your teenage self's mall.) Niagara offers up an overall lifestyle experience, including a bustling wine industry as well as the Shaw Theatre. Paul is snapped during the groundbreaking ceremony with Ivanhoe colleague David Baffa, Niagara-on-the-Lake mayor David Eke and city councilors Dave Lepp and Mike Galloway.

Ivanhoe is banking on the millions that head to the area every year, and that enough will bypass crossing the border and instead check out J Crew, UGG, Lacoste, Coach, Cole Haan and other retailers—100 in total—that will anchor the new shopping centre—the largest to date in Canada. Traffic and parking have been an ongoing challenge at another one of the new entrants into this market—Toronto Premium Outlet at Trafalgar and 401. Ivanhoe is banking on this not being as much of an issue with this project—over 2,300 parking spaces, just off the QEW.
