Warehouses Are Where It's At

Distribution warehouses are fast becoming one of the more popular asset classes, thanks to online shopping (and our childlike fascination with forklifts). One company active in the sector is Home Depot, which just opened the first of three DFCs it has planned in the U.S. over the next two years. So what do they have planned for Canada? “At this time, we’re not planning on opening DFCs like in the U.S.” Home Depot spokesperson Erika Botond tells us. Still, we’ll keep an eye on that, as e-commerce more and more becomes the new retail story on this side of the border as well. In the image is the Home Depot in Kelowna.
