QuadReal Buys Vancouver’s Oakridge Centre

QuadReal Property Group is buying Vancouver's Oakridge Centre from Ivanhoé Cambridge and partnering with Westbank on an extensive redevelopment of Canada’s second-most-productive mall. QuadReal (owned by bcIMC) president Remco Daal said it was a rare opportunity to acquire a flagship Vancouver retail property, and pointed to the 575k SF mall’s position at the hub of transportation and transit networks. Westbank has led planning for the revamp of Oakridge (rendered above), and the project partners are mulling options for an extensive retail, office and residential redevelopment for the 28.5-acre site.
