Mover and Shaker: Broker George Tedder

We caught up with one of the REX Awards finalists, Cushman & Wakefields George Tedder, whoseBay Adelaide Centre East Tower deal is nominated forOffice Lease of the Year. (The project features a major realignment and consolidation of Deloittes business units, taking 419k SF of space in the Brookfield building. Construction of Bay Adelaide East is scheduled to be completed by early 2016.) Coming up on 35 years as a broker, George points to two mentors--Bill Moore, who ran the office leasing department at Royal LePage when George was starting out, and Dave Garrett, a VP at Cushman + Wakefield (both men are deceased). They taught me that we are in the relationship business, not the transaction business, George says. The dollars will come if you have the right relationships. That set me on the right path.
