Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar and Il Fornaio are the latest tenants announced at the 125k SF Santa Clara Square Marketplace. The specialty shopping center is set to open in the second half of this year.

The restaurants had previously been reported as filling two of the fine dining spots in the development, but Irvine Co made an official announcement at the end of last week.

Irvine Co Retail Properties president Dave Moore says the new additions will offer office workers premium eating options in nearby. “These highly regarded restaurants will be a great destination for mid-day or evening gatherings with colleagues, friends or family,” he adds.

Il Fornaio president and COO Michael Beatrice emphasizes the location of the Santa Clara Square Marketplace. “It’s in the heart of the Silicon Valley, close to Levi’s Stadium and convention center, and it’s one of the few remaining neighborhoods on the Peninsula that doesn’t have a lot of full-service restaurants,” he says.

These two restaurants will join Whole Foods, the anchor tenant. Santa Clara Square is Irvine Co's 100-acre mixed-use project, with 1.8M SF for office space, specialty shopping and residential space.

The rise in premium dining represents a growing trend in the Bay Area to attract working professionals.
