A JV of Stone Brewing and locally based hospitality collective Untitled Hospitality has announced plans to develop the Stone Hotel (above), a craft beer-themed hotel.

Scheduled to open the first quarter of 2018, Untitled Hospitality has secured an exclusive license agreement to construct, own and manage this concept hotel. Stone is the 10th-largest brewery in the nation, employing more than 1,200.

The brainchild of Stone Brewery founders Greg Koch and Steve Wagner, the Stone Hotel will be on 13 acres adjacent to Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens at 1919 Citracado Pkwy in Escondido. The Stone Hotel will offer an all-encompassing experience with amenities for craft beer enthusiasts and novices, alongside the usual healthy dose of Stone’s disregard for convention, Stone Brewing stated.

The hotel’s design will offer unique guest experiences ranging from a bar-style lobby check-in to oversized guest rooms in excess of 375 SF. Each of the hotel’s 99 rooms will incorporate signature BASILE Studio details, such as custom-designed furniture and floor-to-ceiling window systems, which flip open to a balcony. Suites will utilize state-of-the-art energy efficiency and water-saving features.

Hotel amenities will be beer-centric, with guests receiving a complimentary Stone beer upon check-in and in-room growler delivery service. In addition to the wide array of Stone beers on tap, archive special release beers and unique casks will be periodically tapped at the three on-site bars.

Stone Hotel’s event facilities will include an 8k SF ballroom and 10k SF rooftop garden by the pool deck, and nearly an acre of outdoor event space. An inlay on the hotel’s driveway will display beer flowing from a tap at the top of the driveway down to Citracado Parkway.

Untitled was selected to develop the Stone Hotel brand based on the firm’s more than 20 years of experience in operations and business development for leading global hotel and leisure companies, including Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Hilton, Marriott, InterContinental Hotel Group and Key Hospitality Group. Untitled is partnering with San Diego developer McMillin LLC to build out the Stone Hotel property.
