NorCal-based luxe jeweler Shreve & Co is leaving the Portland market after trying to make a go of it for the last five years. It will soon vacate the space it took near Pioneer Courthouse Square that was once held by Carl Greve Jewelers. According to Shreve, the Downtown Portland location hadn't grown as hoped.
The space had a 4,095 SF retail parlor at street level, a 4,718 SF mezzanine and a 472 SF basement when Greve occupied it, the Portland Business Journal reports. "By closing the Portland store, we'll gain more flexibility to focus our resources in our home market," says Shreve co-owner Lane Schiffman. In California, the company has retail locations in San Francisco and Palo Alto. [PBJ]
