Drive Shack has unveiled plans to open a new golf-based entertainment venue in the Phoenix market — the company's fourth location. The leisure business specialist received approval recently for a 60K SF complex at Bethany Home Road and 99th Avenue, just off Loop 101 and directly across from the University of Phoenix Stadium.

The property will be a year-round sports entertainment facility, combining golf-related activities and dining. There will be three levels with 96 hitting bays offering various golf-based games. Visitors can watch games from the facility's restaurant, event space or a game lounge.

"We have taken the traditional golf driving range and pivoted the experience via technology to make golf more accessible to golfers and non-golfers alike," Drive Shack CEO Sarah Watterson said.

Currently Drive Shack is developing venues in Orlando, Richmond, Virginia, and Raleigh, North Carolina, all of which will open in 2018. The Phoenix venue will be within Aldea Centre, which is being developed by John F. Long Properties.
