The galaxy, far, far away's next door neighbor will be the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
After opening Star Wars land, The Walt Disney Co. is bringing Marvel to the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim.

At its biennial D23 Convention, a convention that celebrate all things Disney, company officials formally announced the development of the Marvel-themed Avengers Campus for its Disney California Adventure theme park in Anaheim.
The Avengers Campus will replace Bug's Land, which closed in September.
The Marvel superhero-themed attraction will feature Spider-Man. Guests will be able to eat at Pym Test Kitchen based on the Ant-Man and The Wasp movie. Doctor Strange, members of the Guardians of the Galaxy and other characters from Black Panther, Iron Man and Thor movies will walk around the land. More Marvel-themed rides are in store.
Disney said the Avengers Campus is slated to open sometime in 2020. An Avengers Campus will also open at Disney's theme parks in Paris.
The new superhero-themed campus comes as no surprise for people who follow the Disney theme parks.
Earlier this year, Disney made news when reports came out that the company had already began pulling permits worth an estimated $14M for construction of new buildings for a superhero-themed land within Disney California Adventure.
Just like Lucasfilm and Star Wars, when Disney acquired Marvel for $4B in 2009, it was only a matter of time before those characters came to the movies and the Disney theme parks.
After Disney acquired Lucasfilm in 2012, the entertainment company immediately made several movies based on the popular Star Wars franchise and this year opened two Star Wars-themed lands, one in Anaheim and another at Walt Disney World in Orlando.
Though attendance dipped at Disneyland following the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge in Anaheim, revenue was up 7% in the third quarter, according to reports.
