Here's another metric of Nashville's growth: an influx of hip doughnut joints. CookNSolo's Michael Solomonov, a James Beard Award-winning chef, is bringing Federal Donuts to East Nashville. It will serve doughnuts and fried chicken in the former Hot Yoga. Currently, the specialty doughnut shops are in the Philadelphia market, the Tennessean reports.
The shop offers a variety of unusual doughnut flavors, such as vanilla spice, strawberry lavender and cinnamon brown sugar. “Fancy” doughnuts flavors include guava poppy, butter pecan and chocolate eclair. Other CookNSolo restaurants include Percy Street Barbecue and modern Israeli restaurant Zahav, both in Philadelphia. [Tennessean]
