Two Houston Retailers Go Global

Charming Charlie

Lately, big-name international retailers like John Hardy and Celine have announced plans to come to Houston. Now it’s time to flip the script. Two popular Houston-based business are expanding operations outside the US.

Houston-based contemporary jewelry and accessory retailer Charming Charlie is rapidly bolstering its presence. The company's first location in Oman opened earlier this month at the Muscat Grand Mall. The 3k SF store is operated by Apparel Group, reports Culture Map. Charming Charlie also operates a store in the Philippines at Bonifacio High Street Central Square in Manila. The brand now opens 55 stores in the US each year.

Define Body & Mind, a successful fitness chain, opened a studio in Dubai. It’s the 12th studio for the company and the first outside the country. The store is part of an aggressive expansion strategy, with new stores planned for Lubbock, Katy and Denver. The new Dubai studio, which opened earlier this month, is in the Silverene Tower Dubai Marina, across from the Dubai Marina Mall. The studio offers Define Body & Mind’s unique style of cycling, yoga and workout apparel. [CM]
