A 170K SF Life Time location opening in Shenandoah late this year will bring Houston its third Life Time Work coworking space, the latest entrant in a local flex office market that is rapidly expanding.

Life Time Work will occupy the fourth floor, or 30K SF, of the four-story development at 9000 Six Pines Drive in Shenandoah. The location will also include a 23K SF outdoor pool deck, seven studios for barre, cycle, yoga and group fitness, and five pickleball courts, the company announced.
Once known for its chain of gyms, Life Time introduced its coworking concept in 2017. That is also when the company dropped “fitness” from its name. It has two other Life Time Work locations in the Houston area.
Life Time is looking at adding space for a Life Time Work location or a Life Time work lounge, an open concept office space, to all of its “athletic country club” locations, said Clarence Latson, who will be the senior general manager of the Shenandoah location.
The company offers gym and work memberships separately, Latson said. There are different tiers of coworking memberships, from $350 per month to access the open plan workspace to private offices for teams starting at $1,518 a month, according to the City Centre location website.
“The people that typically go and want to be a part of Life Time Work are those that are interested in the flexibility with their work and their workouts,” Latson said.
The Life Time workspace in Shenandoah includes specialized lighting, plant life, private offices, open plan workspaces and “other hard-to-find amenities that are right in line with the expectations and the normal experience that is of The Woodlands and Shenandoah area,” he said.
The Woodlands has a lower office vacancy than Houston overall and has begun proving its potential as a nationally recognized life sciences hub.
“When you think of where we’re located, directly off of Research Drive, that is one of the highly productive [office and] industrial areas of the planned community of The Woodlands,” Latson said.
Houston saw the nation’s largest coworking growth in Q2 of this year, bringing the city to seventh place among the top 25 markets based on the number of flex workspaces.
“We’ve seen a lot of interest around our City Centre location, around our GreenStreet locations. [They have] consistently grown month-over-month,” Latson said. “We expect the same thing to happen with our Shenandoah location once we open later on this year.”
