Yoga and athletic apparel company Lululemon Athletica is planning to open its newest Michigan store at 1459 Woodward in Downtown Detroit, the Detroit Free Press reports.
The location has been vacant since April, when Kit + Ace closed all of its U.S. locations.
Founded in Vancouver, B.C., in 1998 and now a publicly trade company, Lululemon helped to popularize high-end yoga pants in recent years.
The company already has a few retail stores in Michigan, including in Downtown Birmingham, Somerset Collection and at Twelve Oaks Mall.
Lululemon is the latest retail arrival in Downtown Detroit, a submarket starved for such stores not so many years ago. Under Armour sportswear, a Nike store, eyewear shop Warby Parker and men's retailer Bonobos have all set up shop in the area.
