With the massive renovation of Denver International Airport underway, concessionaires are beginning to unveil the aesthetic for their concepts.
Jax Fish House & Oyster Bar and The Post Brewing Co. — announced earlier this year by Great Hall Partners, the team selected as the private developer for the Great Hall renovation — have selected BCV Architecture + Interiors as their design architect.
Jax Fish House will showcase a free-standing bar in the round at the center of the airport’s Great Hall. Aquarium pillars will anchor either end of the bar, serving as focal points for both travelers and diners. The butterfly shape will allow a variety of dining options, including a grab-and-go counter on one side, a sushi-bar table on the other, shucking stations and a bar all around.
The Post Brewing Co. will have a classic, roadside diner look and feel expressed through a backdrop of ceramic wall tile, an iconic rust-red wrap-around graphic belt band, Pullman booths with coat rack posts, a chunky wood and steel-supported picnic bench and table units. In a nod to Denver’s railroad legacy, long, communal tables are designed with a steel support rail, which allows individual table slabs to slide back and forth to accommodate individual or group seating arrangements.

The $650M Great Hall Project is part of the airport’s effort to keep up with record-setting growth in passenger traffic. DIA is the fastest-growing major airport in the nation, adding more flights and seats taking off than any top-10 airport in the last year, according to airport statistics.
