Charlotte-based Childress Klein Properties has filed a rezoningseeking to expand its 545k SF RiverGate mixed-use development near Lake Wylie by about 155k SF. (So anyone thinkin' about playing bocce on the outskirts of that zone... not so fast.)
 
CK is seeking a zoning change from multifamily to commercial center for a 22-acre parcel adjoining the existing center, CK?s Chris Thomas tells us. RiverGate is anchored by retail behemoths such asSuperTarget and Home Depot, as well as numerous restaurants and specialty stores. A public hearing on the request is scheduled for Dec. 12.
