"When the recessions come it always feels like the Atlanta metro area gets disproportionately hit. That was true in the dot-com bust, the early 1990s, it was definitely true in the Great Financial Crisis," he said. "The key difference is the Atlanta economy has diversified greatly. We are no longer reliant on one thing ... I'm not getting the sense there is a fear we will go deeper than the rest of the nation."
