John Pritzker, a member of the famous Pritzker family, started out working in his family’s business at Hyatt Hotels, which helped fuel his knowledge of the hospitality industry. He founded private equity firm Geolo Capital and Mandara Spa, which he later sold. Pritzker was one of Ticketmaster’s founding members.
Pritzker founded Commune Hotels, which merged with Destination Hotels in January 2016, forming Two Roads Hospitality. Pritzker was named as co-chairman of that company. It has more than 97 hotels in seven countries across six brands. The company also has $2B worth of property revenue under management. It is based in Boulder, Colorado. — Scott Klocksin
