Diane Hendricks still lives in the area of southern Wisconsin where she was raised on a dairy farm. She met her husband, Ken, in the 1970s, after hiring his family’s roofing business for work on homes she fixed up and sold. The pair went into business together and in 1982 formed ABC Supply Co., which they built into a roofing supply empire that has over 700 locations and 12,000 employees.
Since Ken’s death in 2007, Diane’s business activities have been split between ABC and Hendricks Holding Co., a Beloit, Wisconsin-based private equity firm she founded with her late husband. — Scott Klocksin
