Bishop Ranch Starts Demo For New Retail Center

Placeholder

Bishop Ranch has begun the demolition of four of the San Ramon office park's oldest buildings to start the next phase of Sunset Development Co's plan for the area: City Center Bishop Ranch.

We caught up with Sunset Development president and COO Alexander Mehran Jr. about the need for the 300k SF of retail center, which will bring about 75 stores, a 10-screen luxury movie theater and several restaurants to the area. That's Alexander, above, with his father, Alexander Mehran Sr.

San Ramon and the East Bay are hungry for something new, Alexander tells us. He says City Center Bishop Ranch will provide the distinctive, quality retail and dining experience that residents of San Ramon and the entire East Bay community are expecting.

Bishop Ranch, on 585 acres in the San Ramon Valley, is home to over 600 companies. The center, designed by Renzo Piano Building Workshop, will add retail within walking and biking distance of those offices.

We'll catch up more with Alexander and learn more about Bishop Ranch in an upcoming exclusive Q&A.
