Ivy City has turned into a hub for breweries and distilleries in recent years, and the neighborhood could soon add a winery to its offerings.

Douglas Development, the developer who controls the vast majority of the real estate in the Northeast DC neighborhood, is working to sign City Winery to one of its warehouses on Okie Street, the Washington Business Journal reports.

City Winery, which has yet to sign the lease, would combine a winemaking operation and restaurant with a 300- to 350-seat concert venue, plus a rooftop bar. It expects to open the location by the end of 2017. City Winery has locations in New York, Chicago, Nashville and Atlanta, with another planned in Boston. It will be the second winery to open in the District, with District Winery opening in the Capitol Riverfront this year.

Douglas has sparked much of the development in the Ivy City neighborhood with its redevelopment of the Hecht Warehouse, and it's bringing a Compass Coffee to the neighborhood this year. The local coffee shop willy occupy part of a 97k SF retail center Douglas is redeveloping from the former Pappa's Tomato Factory at 1401 Okie St NE.
