The coronavirus prevented the D.C. real estate industry from coming together for the annual CREBA Awards ceremony, but it did not stop the organization from honoring the top brokers, deals and firms in the industry.
CREBA revealed the winners in a series of online announcements this week, starting Monday with the Rising Star Award and ending Friday with the Brendan McCarthy Memorial Award.

The Brendan McCarthy Memorial Award was given to CBRE Senior Vice President Mark Teitelbaum. A 36-year industry veteran, Teitelbaum specializes in tenant representation and has represented organizations including Johns Hopkins University, Sallie Mae, Al Jazeera and Friedman Billings Ramsey & Co.
The Joseph Stettinius Jr. Leadership Award, created in 2018 after the former Cushman & Wakefield Americas CEO died at 55, was given to Cushman & Wakefield Regional Managing Principal Roberta Liss. Now the leader of the firm's Northeast, North-Central and Mid-Atlantic regions, Liss has executed transactions totaling more than 30M SF during her career.
The James L. Eichberg Broker of the Year Award was given to JLL Managing Director Robb Johnson. A 39-year industry veteran, Johnson last year represented Dean & Co. in its move to a new Tysons office. He previously represented Marriott International in its deal for a new Downtown Bethesda headquarters in 2017.
The Rising Star Award was given to Tishman Speyer Director Rafael Notario, who leases the firm's D.C. office properties, including 2050 M St. NW, International Square and 2000 K St. NW.
