150 King St W is Ontario’s 1,000th building to be LEED-certified. The 28-storey Sun Life Financial Tower—which cut energy use by 19% between 2011 and 2014 in the Race to Reduce—earned LEED Gold EB:O&M Recertification, only the second project nationwide to do so, according to Canada Green Building Council. Other 2015 green building milestones: Edelweiss House in Wakefield, QC, was Canada’s first project to certify under the LEED v4 rating system, and Pickering’s Dunbarton High School was named Greenest School on Earth. In all, 527 LEED projects were certified in Canada last year, for 2,576 total.
