New Mississauga Office Tower's Big Plans

Phase 1 of Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan's (HOOP) Spectrum Square—a 134k SF LEED Gold office building, coming to market early next year—had its topping off last week, with Eastern Construction president Frank DeCari, HOOP senior portfolio manager Lisa LaFave, and Mississauga councillor Bonnie Crombie taking part in the rooftop ceremony. The building, at 5015 Spectrum Way, is part of a 1.3M SF, six-building corporate community in the Airport Corporate Centre.

The Spectrum Square development includes a 60k SF restaurant campus, The Eatery (seen here from the top of 5015 Spectrum), with Starbucks, Subway, Teriyaki Experience, and Veloce Italian Kitchen, among other tenants. Goudy Real Estate’s Cory Rosen says negotiations are underway with an American burger chain and a sit-down family restaurant. In addition to the commercial tenants next door, The Eatery—part of an effort to urbanize a suburban office park environment—will be serviced by a future Bus Rapid Transit line on Eglinton Avenue West.
