RioCan To Learn About Mixed-Use In London

A RioCan-Allied management team leaves for London this week to help get the Spadina Avenue and Front Street West project cooking; it's a five-day look at several shopping and mixed-use centres. (The RioCan-Allied-Diamondcorp JV includes the current Globe and Mail site.) RioCan SVP Jordan Robins tells us therearen'tany successful Canadian examples of the type of multi-use project the group envisions, but there are overseas. On a RioCan conference call last week, CEO Ed Sonshine talked about wanting to see a wow development comprised of mid-point luxury tenants that fall between what you see at the Eaton Centre and along Bloor Street.
