NAIOP Toronto will give Morguard Investments president Stephen Taylor a community service award April 9 at the Rex Awards. Stephen tells us it's not an area he takes lightly, especially programs that protect vulnerable children. He's been most active in Covenant House and the Catholic Children’s Aid Society of Toronto. “It is wrenching to see a young person who is full of optimism, energy, and potential have their hopes dashed by circumstances completely out of their control,” he tells us.

Stephen took part in this year’s "CEO Sleep-Out for Street Kids." Pictured are Morguard’s Arjun Chowdhury and police chief Bill Blair at the event. The Morguard team raised $25k for Covenant House Toronto, Canada’s largest shelter for homeless youth (the event raised over $700k overall). “The weather was a little warmer than last year’s minus 10-degree wind chill, but we did have the pleasure of enduring a downpour at about 3:30am,” Stephen says. “A sleep-out and a shower, all for the price of one.”
