Everyone Loves the Airport

Nine in 10 Torontonians(87%) believe the Billy Bishop Toronto City Airportis a valuable asset, according to a pollreleased by the Toronto Port Authority. (Coincidentally, that 10th guy is also the dentist who doesn't choose Crest toothpaste.)

The Ipsos-Reid poll was timely, considering the transportation debate on Toronto's front pages. 81%say its an important part of Torontos future economic growth. "Polling has re-confirmed what we have always felt the airport offered," says TPA CEO Geoffrey Wilson,"and that is a strong value proposition and a strong economic driver for the city of Toronto. It's been embraced that way."(Above left, he's next to one of the tunnel boring machines digging beneath the channel connecting the mainland with the island airport.
