| We're hooked on the new Manhattan Drugs steakhouse on Capitol Hill, where we met economist extraordinaire Matthew Gardner of Gardner Economics and his wife Marcy Salo, of Cairncross & Hempelmann. Manhattan Drugs (next to Ferrari and Maserati of Seattle) has been open for dinner less than a month, but it's already attracted high-profile clientele: Bill Gates was spotted there recently. (No word on what he ordered, but we bet it was delicious and did not have a single apple in it). Matthew, who grew up in London and learned the finer points of his craft at Oxford, will be a keynote at our Future of Downtown Seattle event tomorrow at the W Hotel. "There's an awful lot of interest from institutional investors, many of them on the East Coast," he says. |
