Clarion Partners Buys Tableau Headquarters In Wallingford For $158M

Clarion Partners paid $157.85M for Tableau Software's NorthEdge headquarters, according to the Puget Sound Business Journal. NorthEdge is on the site of King County Metro's former bus stop maintenance shop in the Wallingford neighborhood, just north of Gas Works Park.

Clarion has been buying a significant number of properties in the Puget Sound region, including the downtown Seattle retail/entertainment complex that houses Niketown, a large Tukwila business park, the 1201 Third Ave. office tower in Seattle and an upscale apartment building in Seattle's Belltown neighborhood. Clarion paid a total of around $1.1B for these assets and NorthEdge.

Designed by the Seattle office of Perkins+Will, NorthEdge has views of the downtown skyline across Lake Union and won an American Institute of Architects award in the Innovative Workplace Environment Inspired by Context category.

Clarion acquired the four-story building from Touchstone of Seattle and AIG Global Investment Group of New York, the companies that developed the project. Tableau moved approximately 1,000 employees into NorthEdge earlier this year, creating space for more than 200 additional people.
