The Warriors hope to get ground moving on their new arena early next year, for a completion date of July or August 2018. Team president Rick Welts says its not feasible to get the 18,000-seat arena up and running in Mission Bay by 2017, reports Inside Bay Area. Rick spoke at the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce's Public Policy Forum, releasing first-ever-seen interior renderings. What the drawings reveal: a sunlit grand entrance lobby next to glass windows and a large video scoreboard hovering over the court. Suites in the arena will be as big as 600 SF and would perch on one ring in the arena instead of on two levels at Oracle Arena, which minimizes the distance from seats to the court. [IBA]
