Equity One Spending $109M on Shopping Center Expansion

Daly City's City Council just OK'ed the 200k SF expansion and redevelopment of Serramonte Center, an 895k SF shopping mall on Highway 280. Equity One bought the mall in 2012 as part of the $600M portfolio it bagged from Capital & Counties. It plans to go on a shopping spree, dumping $109M into the site’s redevelopment and expansion, reports the San Francisco Business Times. Construction will likely start in the next couple of weeks on the mall’s 80-acre site. [SFBT]
