The folks at The Village at Fairview—at US 75 and Stacy Road in Fairview—are lighting up the sky with the premiere of a choreographed music/light show called Kaleidoscope of Dreams at the shopping center Friday night. We got a quick preview of the sparkling show on Monday where we tried to capture the flavor (meaning the mojitos we had at Gloria's earlier that night) of the light show. We especially liked the rockin' Nutcracker tunes. | |
| We snapped celebrity event planner and TV personality Steve Kemble, The Village at Fairview's Kymberly Scalia, and Parker 3D director John Carter, who created the light show. Steve was brought in to organize the free entertainment for Friday night with family activities along Fountain Court Road near the show. Need a bribe to come out? There'll be goody bags for the first 2,500 kiddos.American Idol season seven finalist Jason Castro will be on hand, too, performing in the Macy's courtyard from 8-9 p.m. Friday. The light show, which will take place on the north side of Macy's, will happen nightly (through Dec. 31) every 30 minutes beginning at 5 p.m. | |
| Outside of Gloria's, in front of the Grand Commons Stage near The Purple Cow, we were mesmerized (but managed to take a photo) by the colorful lights in the fountain. Kymberly tells us that a fountain show will also be a nightly feature between now and New Year's Eve at 6:15, 7:15, 8:15, and 9:15. The colorful sprays of water will shoot up to 60 feet in the air synchronized to music. The Village at Fairview is a 1.5M SF mixed-use center that opened last year. The largest locally owned bookstore, the 20k SF a Real Bookstore, opened today between Macy's and J.C. Penney. |
