A new team-based game experience featuring a mix of physical and mental challenges is coming to Philadelphia this summer, joining a slate of immersive experiences set to open in the city.

LOL Entertainment is bringing Time Mission to 1534 Chestnut St. in Center City. The family-friendly, point-based adventure game features riddles, lasers and more than 25 “time travel” portals, according to a press release.
Time Mission is already available to play at locations in New York, Virginia and Rhode Island.
“Philly is all about community and teamwork, so a concept built around team-based challenges feels like a perfect fit,” LOL CEO Rob Cooper said in a statement.
“It’s another way we’re creating unforgettable experiences that bring people together, and we can’t wait for everyone to experience it.”
LOL, which was founded in Philly and operates the city’s Museum of Illusions location, is also working on a similar project with Sandbox VR at 1712 Walnut St. That virtual reality gaming experience is scheduled to open next month.
“As someone who grew up in the area, I know how perfectly this location fits the city's vibrant tech and entertainment scene,” Cooper said in a statement earlier this year.
“Partnering with Sandbox VR to transform this historic Walnut Street space into a cutting-edge virtual reality destination shows our commitment to Philadelphia's growth as a hub for innovative entertainment. We're particularly excited to join the thriving Rittenhouse retail hub and create new jobs in the neighborhood where our company's story began.”

The Chestnut Street site is managed by Midwood Investment & Development.
They aren't the only new interactive video game experiences coming to greater Philadelphia.
Activate Games has proposed creating a similarly colorful game experience inside a former Rite Aid at 1509 Route 38 in Cherry Hill, 42Freeway reported. Its plans will be discussed at a Planning Board meeting at 7 p.m. Monday.
Also on the way is Netflix House, set to open at King of Prussia Mall later this year, and the 40K SF Otherworld Philadelphia, an immersive experience featuring games and work from local artists.
