Gold Nuggets for OC Properties

A handful of OC developments took Grand Awards recently at the 49th annual Gold Nugget Awards at the builders' trade show PCBC. In the new category "Multi-Generational Concepts," the Grand Award went to the Hill at Lambert Ranch–Residence One & Two in Irvine, which the judges say has a "creative way to preserve privacy in a multi-generational living arrangement.... Floor plans present buyers with multiple living options in the aptly named family compound." The builder is the New Home Co and the designer is Robert Hidey Architects.
A shiny Grand Award nugget for "On the Boards Site Plan" went to a Brea mixed-use development, Central Park Village. "Located on a former hospital site... a one-acre 'central park' is the major organizing element of the plan, with smaller-scaled outdoor spaces serving the residential uses," the judges note. "The plan is a clear winner and example for future small-site developments." J.H. Real Estate Partners is the builder/developer, while the designer is Withee Malcolm Architects.
