LOVE! VALOR! COMPASSION!

What an amazing turnout for one of NYC real estate’s most beloved charities. We snapped this of the 1,000 attendees last week at the Waldorf Astoria, where Mann Publications hosted the ninth annual Women of Valor Awards Tea. Proceeds benefit St. Francis Food Pantries & Shelters, an org run by the Capuchin Franciscan Friars that supports a network of 25 charitable programs providing food, clothing, shelter, counseling, and services for the poor in the five boroughs, Long Island, and New Jersey.
St. Francis Food Pantries & Shelters exec director Joseph Sano; 2011 honorary chair and keynote speaker Veronica Kelly, director of special projects for The Bowery Mission; St. Francis’ Father Francis Gasparik; Prudential Douglas Elliman retail chairman Faith Hope Consolo (one of the first Women of Valor honorees); and NYPD commish Ray Kelly. This year’s Clarissa Award recipients (given to women who imbue St. Clare's spirit and share her values in the biz sector) were Crowell & Moring partner Barbara Champoux, Vornado SVP Pamela Caruso, Neuberger Berman SVP Lisa Dimoulas, Cauldwell Wingate VP Joanne Foulke, and corporate RE pro Jody Brown. And receiving the Humanitarian Award were JLL SVP Laini Marie Rey and Tishman Speyer director Pia Silvestri.
Joining the event’s guest of honor, Newmark Knight Frank managing director Robin Fisher (fourth from left) are ACC Construction’s Nancy Erardi, Ted Moudis & Associates’ Lucy Carter, Paramount Group’s Cindy Boyea, ACC Construction’s Theresa Fleming and Iva Kravitz, Faith Hope Consolo, First American Title’s Theresa Garelli, ACC Construction’s Michele Medaglia, and Marcus & Millichap’s Karen Dome. The economic uncertainty and unemployment has placed additional burden on St. Francis, and the number of clients it serves each week has increased—currently, it serves over a million meals per year.
