Mike Lafitte is leaving Trammell Crow Co. next month, ending a more than two-decade career with the firm that elevated the commercial real estate veteran to CEO.

Lafitte joined TCC 25 years ago after working for Lincoln Property Co. He told the Dallas Business Journal he plans to focus on outside business and investment opportunities.

Danny Queenan, CBRE’s global CEO of real estate investments, will oversee TCC business upon Lafitte's departure on Feb. 17, per the DBJ. The company will not be hiring a new CEO, according to a spokesperson.

“Serving as CEO of TCC for the past few years has been the honor of my life in business,” Lafitte said in an emailed statement to the DBJ. “I can only imagine what Mr. Crow himself would say about how significant and strong TCC is today. The company is in great hands with Danny Queenan and the TCC Leadership team and the opportunity ahead is unlimited.”

TCC was acquired by CBRE in 2006. Lafitte has held several roles, including CEO of real estate investments, CEO of advisory services, and global group president and president of the Americas, per the DBJ.

Daniel Queenan, CEO of Real Estate Investments, will take over Lafitte's role as TCC CEO.

Based in Denver, Queenan previously served as CEO of CBRE’s advisory services. He assumed his current position in May.

News of Lafitte’s departure comes after CBRE in October announced plans to reduce spending by $400M, including $300M worth of headcount reductions. Other high-profile exits include Brian McAuliffe, former head of multifamily capital markets, who the firm announced on Jan. 25 is being replaced by Kelli Carhart, the previous leader of the firm’s multifamily debt production team.
