More than a decade after it first transformed Manchester's Carvers Warehouse, landlord Town Centre Securities said it is time for a rethink.

The progress of time means the 22K SF Grade II-listed canal-side building at Piccadilly Basin is now well-located on the edge of the city's thriving Northern Quarter. Ten years ago it was on a back street.

TCS said it "plans to refurbish and repurpose the space to suit its growing property community".

The four-storey building, built in 1806 and one of Manchester’s oldest surviving warehouses, was converted in 2007 and is home to architects, engineers and property consultants (amongst others), creating a thriving property hub within the space.

Work on-site begins next month.

Many of the existing tenants at Carvers Warehouse have remained loyal to the development for the past 10 years, including Civic Engineers (which worked on the original refurbishment of the building), building services engineers Max Fordham and leading architects The Harris Partnership.
