Restaurant: Truluck’s
Address: 5350 Westheimer
Signature dish: Stone crab claws—go on Monday night for the all-you-can-eat special.
Best known for: Its power lunch special, which gives you soup or salad, an entrée, and the dessert of the day for $29. (We always fill up on the first two courses and end up bringing the dessert to go.)

2. Caracol

Restaurant: Caracol

Signature dish: Oyster bar
Best known for: Star power. It’s run by Chef Hugo Ortega and Tracy Vaught, the married couple behind Backstreet Café, Hugo’s, Prego and Trevisio. And whether it's lunch, happy hour or dinner, you're bound to run into some star brokers, too.

3. Houston Club

Restaurant: Houston Club
Address: One Shell Plaza
Signature dish: Spicy sweet potato soup, Kobe Burger with waffle fries
Best known for: Longevity and killer views. The Houston Club is the city’s oldest private club (121 years) and resided in the Houston Club Building on Rusk for nearly 60 years. Its new home on the 49th floor of One Shell cost $3.5M to build out and boasts a beautiful panoramic view of Downtown.

4. Masraff's

Restaurant: Masraff’s
Address: 1753 Post Oak
Signature dish: Garlic seared calamari
Best known for: Owner Tony Masraff’s frequent table visits, and one of the best locations to enjoy Houston Restaurant Week. It's also a killer happy hour location, and no winter is complete without at least one real estate holiday event here.

5. RDG

Restaurant: RDG
Address: 1800 Post Oak
Signature dish: Summer buttermilk fried chicken and romaine spears salad
Best known for: Namesake Chef Robert Del Grande was a James Beard semifinalist, and Bobby Flay studied under him.
